Oak Tree Animals’ Charity is opening the doors to its first Charity shop in Carlisle on 7th September sited in East Tower Lane of the Lanes Shopping Centre to help raise funds for animals and to provide a city centre location where people can access the Charity’s services. The Charity was founded in 1909 and the shop forms part of the charity’s longer term sustainability plan to ensure that it is able to continue to help animals in our region for the next 100 years. Rehoming services and animal relinquishment will continue to be based solely at the site in Wetheral, which has animal facilities.

Crammed with bargains to help raise money animals in our region

Caroline Johnson, General Manager at Oak Tree explains “We are truly delighted to be opening our first Charity Shop in our home city of Carlisle to not only generate funds for our work with animals throughout Cumbria and the Borders, but also to act as a community hub for animals and owners in our region to access support and advice services. We have been overwhelmed with the support for this project with offers of donated goods and volunteer time and would like to thank everyone who has helped to make this dream a reality for us.

The charity shop opening will take place at 10.30am on Friday 7th September, and continue throughout the day. We hope that our supporters will come and help us celebrate and grab a bargain knowing that their money will support animals in our region!”
