The boss of a Cumbrian playground manufacturer has been named as one of the standout leaders in the North.
Barry Leahey, president of Playdale Playgrounds, based in Haverthwaite, has been named in the prestigious 2024 Northern Leaders list.
The accolade highlights Barry’s significant contributions to the business landscape, his dedication to driving growth and innovation within the industry, and his commitment to championing Cumbria and UK manufacturing.
The Northern Leaders List, presented by BusinessCloud, showcases a select group of influential figures who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, vision, and impact in their respective fields.
Others on the list include Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies and Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham.
Joining Playdale Playgrounds in 2004, Barry played a pivotal role in transforming the company into a market-leading manufacturing powerhouse.
His leadership has not only driven business success but also underscored his passion for the region, as he actively seeks to contribute to its economic growth. Barry is part of the Cumbrian Economic Growth Board, which recently succeeded the Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership.
