Local holiday cottage letting company Sally’s Cottages has gotten off to a strong start in 2019 with the opening of a new office in Windermere village.

The company, which opened its first office in Keswick in January 2011, has secured the additional premises on Victoria Street in Windermere in order to bring its award-winning service to more holiday cottage owners and visitors in the South Lakes.

“We have such a fantastic relationship with owners, guests, and local businesses in the North Lakes,” comments founder and owner, Sally Fielding, “and, although we already have a number of popular holiday cottages in the South Lakes, I hope that this new office will help us work much more closely with those in the area.”

Set up by Sally 15 years ago in Eskdale with just one holiday cottage, Sally’s Cottages has grown from a home-based business with just Sally and her husband, Rob, to a nationally-competitive organisation with two Lake District offices, over 480 holiday cottages, and employing 23 members of staff, as well as using the services of local freelancers.

Sally has also begun the year on the shortlist for the Northern Power Women Awards for the second time. The mum-of-three was highly commended as an outstanding entrepreneur in the 2016 awards, which celebrates achievements of women in business.

The company is no stranger to accolades, receiving gold in the prestigious British Travel Awards in November, and winning at the regional Natwest Great British Entrepreneur Awards earlier in 2018.

In 2018, Sally’s Cottages partnered with local business including Keswick Film Festival, the World of Beatrix Potter and Go Ape! Whinlatter. They are excited once again to be supporting the Keswick Film Festival in 2019, its 20th anniversary, and hope to partner with other local organisations and groups over the coming year to help promote the best of the Lake District.

Investment continued in the business early in 2018 with a £250,000 website upgrade. Other achievements have included reaching half a million followers on their Facebook page, 1 million annual website users, over 1,000 Google reviews, thousands of pounds worth of prizes given to support numerous charities, and bookings to the value of £8 million.

To celebrate, Sally’s Cottages is having a £1,000 voucher giveaway on their Facebook page this weekend. To enter all you have to do is comment on one of the giveaway posts before 11pm on Sunday the 13th of January.

Overall, 2018 has been another positive year for the agency, which is now the largest independent holiday cottage letting company in Cumbria. Despite competition from multi-million pound organisations offering similar services in the area, Sally’s Cottages continues to thrive and remain as one of the leading and best-loved agencies in the Lake District, combining passion and local knowledge with award-winning customer service.

“This next year is going to be an interesting one, with fresh challenges and new, exciting ventures,” adds Sally. “With a fabulous team and lots of hard work, we’re ready to jump right in.”
