Sarah Becker, local entrepreneur and business woman has moved her very successful beauty business to a new location in the city centre.

Sarah, from Carlisle, started her beauty business 8 years ago, offering at that time, the broadest range of waxing services in the County. Sarah wanted to make sure she offered the very best in the business, so she invested in training with a recognised expert – right at the start of her venture. As such, Sarah has been trained by Kim Lawless and strives to offer the best in waxing, but also to make her clients feel comfortable and welcome.

Sarah has built up a loyal following, with clients prepared to travel some long distances to be seen by her.

The new home for Becker Beauty is at 1 Cecil Street, Carlisle, CA1 1NL – above Dada Hair.

Sarah said: ‘’I have been fortunate to meet with and build up a great set of clients, some of whom have been my clients for as long as 8 years. I still offer the only salon specialising in the art of waxing and as such my skills are constantly being improved through training and development. I felt it was time to move in to the city centre and being located above such a beautiful salon, I am able to offer a lovely environment for my services and collaborate with a great business in Dada Hair.’’

Three years ago, Sarah diversified her business and created a range of handmade soy wax candles, in a range of fragrances which are sold throughout the UK in a wide range of Lifestyle stockists in addition to online sales.

This part of the business has recently further developed, to offer a bespoke service to clients. Mils & Boo candles will create a special and individual fragrance to best reflect a client product or property and create a private label for the brand. So far, a range of local businesses offer a special Mils & Boo fragrance, amongst them Yellowjacket and Tottergill Farm Cottages.

Sarah added: ‘’Fragrance evokes so many memories and what our Bespoke service offers is an individual fragrance and candle to reflect those experiences enjoyed at some great Cumbria-wide venues. Its fabulous to walk in to some brilliant local businesses and be surrounded by a fragrance in the atmosphere.’’

Sarah plans to extend her bespoke services whilst continuing to look after her beauty clients, with them now being able to pop in to her room in the centre of the City.
