Maya Maya Sale 2019

A high end clothing business is raising funds for a Cumbrian cancer charity in the run up to a major refurbishment.

Maya Maya boutique on Wainwrights Yard in Kendal is donating 10 per cent of items in its sale to CancerCare North Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Amanda Slattery, Owner of Maya Maya, raised more than £18,000 for CancerCare through a Fully Monty-style show in 2018 and is now aiming to get that figure up to an amazing £20,000.

Maya Maya is due to close for refurbishment at 3pm this Saturday, January 2, so the public has until then to visit the boutique and support CancerCare. The charity will receive 10 per cent of the payment when customers mention CancerCare at the checkout.

Many items are dramatically reduced in price and there are men’s and women’s clothes on offer including jackets, coats, occasion wear, t-shirts, shirts, hats, tights, socks and belts. One designer dress is even reduced from £429 to just £50!

Amanda said: “It’s now or never to grab a bargain and support CancerCare!

“After our relaunch we will be concentrating on ladies’ fashion and we will be further expanding our ‘personal shopper’ service.

“We are consolidating the women’s side of the business and won’t have menswear as of February the 9th.

“After the refurbishment, we will be continuing with our best-selling and most loved brands. We will be marketing ourselves very much on our occasion wear while still providing the much-loved brands that our customers want.

“Our new slogan will be: “I’m nicer when I like my outfit. Be nicer.” We are a family and a team. Our customers say we take the stress out of shopping.”

Maya Maya is open from 10am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and then from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, February 2. The shop will reopen after the refurbishment on Saturday, February 9.

For further information search for Maya Maya Ltd, on Facebook and Instagram or pop into the shop on Wainwrights Yard. You can also phone the shop on 01539 737 366.
