Award winning business owner, Samantha Gargett, is celebrating, as Elton Business Support reaches its first anniversary.

Based in Cumbria and operating throughout the North West, EBS was officially launched in April 2018 with a celebratory launch event in October and provides mystery shopping, employee insight and business support. It has already enjoyed phenomenal success, with clients and interest increasing across all professional sectors.

Led by Director, Samantha, a small team of consultants work alongside clients in a nurturing role providing insight, feedback and practical solutions. They give an unbiased look into a business and provide clear and jargon free feedback that can be used to make improvements. As well as offering mystery shopping to give insight from a customer perspective, they also work from inside the business gaining vital insight from management and employees. Once data has been collected, the team provide a detailed report with a list of recommendations, followed up with active support to implement change.

Samantha is daughter to Jennifer and George Bell, owners and directors of Penrith-based Elton Finance, and winners of the 2018 Cumbria Family Business Award. Jennifer previously worked for a London-based marketing firm monitoring product placement and customer service for high profile clients and this is also where Sam started her career. Samantha retains her role at Elton Finance as a Director responsible for marketing and compliance and in return Jennifer shares her knowledge and skills into EBS, ensuring a shared approach across the two businesses.

Sam says, “I’m delighted with the success we have achieved during our first year of business and believe that it is down to hard work, honesty, integrity and a commitment to delivering the best service possible for your client. I also owe a lot to my parents as they were the ones who taught me the real rules of business; how you should operate and how you should treat your clients. Their lessons will stay with me for the rest of my life and I will be eternally grateful. Retaining the ‘Elton’ brand was important to me and the name Elton Business Support is a nod to their influence.

Elton Business Support is also championing the next generation of entrepreneurs with their ‘Next Gen Associate’ strand. Sam’s daughter, Tasha, works for the company carrying out mystery shopping, offering insight from a younger person’s perspective.

Sam explains, “I’m now passing on what I have learnt to Tasha, making Elton Business Support a real family affair. She is already showing a real passion and flair for business and I look forward to seeing her skills develop.”

As well as attracting a range of high-profile clients this year, Samantha has been nominated for an Enterprise Vision Award. These awards recognise women in business from across the North West. Nominee’s will now have to wait until later in the year to find out who has made through to the finals, but it’s a fantastic start to her second year.
