Two Carlisle-based PR and communications specialists have joined forces to provide a range of cost-effective, commercial PR and marketing services specifically tailored to local firms.

Glenn Patterson, founder of the award-winning Really Clever PR agency, has worked as a PR and branding consultant for the likes of Stobart Group, SP Training and M-Sport over the last 13 years.

Now he has partnered with Nick Brownlee, a former Fleet Street journalist whose own PR agency has included the likes of the John Lewis Partnership among its clients, as well as a number of local businesses in the construction, hospitality, and entertainment sectors.

With 10 years’ experience of working with businesses in Cumbria, Really Clever PR is one of the most-established PR companies in the region.

Under the Really Clever PR banner the pair recently secured a contract to manage the national PR account for Palletforce, the UK’s leading freight distribution network, with some other significant contracts in the pipeline.

They now aim to use that experience and expertise to help Cumbrian business grow by providing PR, marketing and brand support – with the specific aim of boosting sales and helping firms compete on a local and national level by increasing their presence in the marketplace.

Glenn said: “Partnering with Nick gives Really Clever PR a real depth of strength, bringing a vast amount of experience across a number of industry sectors to the business. We have been working with Cumbrian companies for nearly 15 years and focus on delivering no-nonsense PR, marketing and branding support, all with a commercial slant, which actually helps businesses grow.”

Nick said: “Having collaborated with Glenn on a number of projects over the years, I have seen at first hand why he has a reputation as one of the best operators in his field. He has the ability to see the big picture and make sense of even the most complex brief.

“Truly effective PR is about helping businesses to grow, and together we aim to provide a service that provides tangible results for our clients, whether on a national or local level.”
