Greggs fans can vote for the Festive Bake to arrive in Carlisle a week before its official launch

Christmas is coming early for Greggs lovers in Carlisle as fans are given the ultimate opportunity to vote to have the Festive Bake up to a full week before the rest of the country.

Carlisle is one of just 20 locations across the UK with this golden opportunity, chosen for its proven love of the Festive Bake over the years. Locals can vote for the highly-anticipated treat to arrive in their local Greggs before it goes on sale nationwide.

A week of voting will result in the top five lucky locations being granted early access to the iconic Christmas product, up to a week before its national launch in November.

Voting is now open in the top 20 best-selling Festive Bake towns and cities across the UK at www.christmasstartshere.co.uk

The 20 cities include:

  • Basingstoke
  • Belfast
  • Bradford
  • Bristol
  • Birmingham
  • Cardiff
  • Carlisle
  • Edinburgh
  • Glasgow
  • Newcastle
  • Manchester
  • Leeds
  • Liverpool
  • London
  • Plymouth
  • Portsmouth
  • Norwich
  • Nottingham
  • Sunderland
  • Swansea

The winning location will be the first to have the Festive Bake on sale on Friday 1st November in one of its shops. The tour will then head to each of the other four cities each day leading up until the nationwide launch.

Fans can also nominate themselves to represent Carlisle’s pastry passion and transport an Olympic-style Festive Bake torch to signify the start of Christmas in each shop. They will also be awarded with an exclusive Greggs gift card.*

For many, the arrival of the Festive Bake at Greggs is the ultimate symbol that Christmas has arrived with fans counting down all year and queueing just to get their hands on the first one of the season.

The Festive Bake is made from succulent pieces of chicken breast, sage & onion stuffing and sweetcure bacon in a creamy sage and cranberry sauce. All wrapped in golden puff pastry with a crunchy crumb topping, and is available from £1.50.

Launching nationwide across Greggs 2,000 shops, it is part of the Greggs’ savoury Christmas menu which also launches in November.
