A PR and marketing agency founded in Cumbria is marking its fifth year in business.

Platinum Live was established at the height of 2020’s Coronavirus lockdown and has recently welcomed two new team members ahead of their fifth birthday in March.

Marie Jedlickova and Kerry Hyslop have joined and are based at the firm’s Whitehaven office.

Marie works in the agency’s social media and digital team, focusing on content creation and influencer marketing, with an audience of over 40,000 people across her socials. Marie, originally from Czech Republic, has worked with brands such as Steve Maden, Pretty Little Thing and VEVO.

Kerry leads on the commercial and finance side, with over a decade of experience in senior finance and growth positions. Kerry supports the firm’s founder, Oliver Hodgson, with the commercial functions ensuring robustness across sales, customer relationships and finance.

Oliver said: “In these last five years, we’ve worked with some truly innovative and talented businesses and individuals. I’m grateful for those who continue to trust us and our supportive network of associates and partners who’ve enabled us to have a terrific five years.

“A highlight is always going to be working with Gary McKee on his 365 challenge, getting his story out to a worldwide audience, reaching millions of people and seeing the smile on his face when he reached that magic £1 million in fundraising.”

Oliver began the business from his family conservatory and now works with international clients worth hundreds of millions of pounds.

The agency prides itself on its diverse portfolio of clients. Oliver said staying true to their roots was incredibly important: “We’re Cumbrian-born and bred. I always remind the team of what it looked like in the early days when I was just working from home.

“Many of our day-one clients are still with us: an accountancy practice and a home-care provider. We’re proud to be from Cumbria and are always keen to hear from fellow local businesses.”
