Eleanor trained as a journalist at City University in London in 1997/8 and has worked for News International, Northcliffe, Fairfax (New Zealand), Cumbrian Newspapers and CN Magazines. She returned to Cumbria in 2013, after more than a decade in New Zealand and France, and is based in Cockermouth. A former writer for Cumbria Life, Taste Cumbria and Carlisle Living, Eleanor joined the team at Cumbria Crack in 2024. She also works in adult education in Carlisle, teaching English.
