Cumbrian businesses can now do more business abroad thanks to a partnership between Cumbria Chamber of Commerce and UK Export Finance (UKEF).
UKEF is the UK’s export credit agency, working alongside the Department for International Trade to support Cumbrian exporters.
Their mission is to make sure that no UK export fails for lack of finance or insurance.
Rob Johnston, Chief Executive, Cumbria Chamber of Commerce says; “The Chamber is delighted to support UKEF’s ‘The Exporters’ Edge’ campaign.
“We’re all about supporting businesses to grow, flourish and prosper and if we can help local companies to fulfil their export potential, that’s a win for everybody.”
Over the past 5 years, UKEF has worked with the private sector to provide over £14bn of support to UK exporters.
Cumbria Chamber of Commerce wants to help direct government-backed finance and insurance to help local businesses win contracts in over 100 markets, fulfil orders and get paid – even if they just supply a company which exports.
