Notice for potential sounding of the site siren – Wednesday 14 November 2018
An emergency exercise is due to take place tomorrow morning on the Sellafield site. The exercise may involve the sounding of the site siren and the use of pyrotechnics. The sound from these exercise activities may be heard off-site. On this occasion, no action needs to be taken.
A Sellafield Ltd spokesman said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused to the local community.”
The Sellafield automated warning system is available for residents in the following areas; CA21 and some postcodes within CA19, CA20, and CA22.
