Rheged Centre

The award winning team behind Tebay Services Farm Shop and Kitchen is planning an open day at its sister site the Rheged Centre, Penrith, to appeal to small and medium sized artisan producers making exceptional food, drink and craft in Cumbria and the Lake District on Wednesday the 10th July.

The unique “drop in” sessions require no appointment as producers are invited to bring their products and meet a buyer for a face to face chat, receiving valuable feedback from the team.

Westmorland’s original motorway service area grew out of the family farm in Tebay, Cumbria when the M6 was built through their land in 1972. The services now offer an accessible national “shop window” for regional food. They work with over 130 local producers, within 30 miles—but are looking to develop and extend their supplier base with new and innovative products.  The event extends to craft, homewares and giftware as well as food.

Julie Mills, Commercial Director says, “Fresh local and artisan products are at the heart of Tebay Services, no franchises just our own farm shops & kitchens. We pride ourselves on selling and making proper food that reflects the region as a whole.  We work tirelessly to find small exceptional producers to take pride of place in our Farm shops and Kitchens, always starting locally.”

“We want Tebay Services to act as a springboard for new businesses. Maybe you’re a brilliant home baker and want to start up a business, a farmer who would like to sell their stock direct rather than via a wholesaler. We’re looking for exceptional products made with care and integrity.”

The unique ‘drop-in’ sessions require no appointment but producers are invited to bring their products and meet a buyer for a face to face chat, receiving valuable feedback form the team.

Drop in for a slice of cake and a cuppa, sessions 9am-12pm or 1pm-5pm on Wednesday 10 July. No need to RSVP, simply turn up on the day.

Please note the event is being held at Rheged, Penrith, CA11 0DQ, NOT at Tebay Services.
