Following on from previous years’ success Baines Wilson, Barclays and Lake District Hotels will once again be teaming up for a rematch of one of Cumbria’s most hotly anticipated dining challenges, Kitchen Rivals 2019.

Launched in 2016, Kitchen Rivals has so far raised over £36,000 for local charities.  This year, the businesses will be raising funds for Cumbria Community Foundation, Keswick Scout Group and Carlisle and Eden Mind.

Kitchen Rivals, which will take place on 28th November at Lodore Falls Hotel and Spa, will see teams from Baines Wilson and Barclays go head to head under the supervision of expert chefs from Lodore Falls to see who can produce the best all-round dining experience.  Guests will be asked to judge the teams by paying what they thought the evening was worth. The winner will be the team that has raised the greatest contribution from its diners.

In a bid to raise as much as possible, Cumbrian businesses are being asked to donate towards auction or raffle prizes.  Joanne Holborn from Baines Wilson said: “If we could bring our total up to £50,000 that would be fantastic. To achieve that we’re calling on any businesses that can offer ‘experiences’ to donate towards this fantastic event and benefit local charities.“

Daniella Hope, Marketing Director for Lake District Hotels Limited said: “The Lodore is the perfect venue to host such a fabulous event, especially as the hotel will be decorated for Christmas. We are all looking forward to another great evening, raising money for three well deserving causes.”

Abigail Bailey, Business Development Manager for Barclays added: “We received such positive feedback from our guests last time, we decided it was time to revisit the challenge in 2019. Barclays supports staff to get involved in the causes they are passionate about and all the charities we are supporting through this event provide fantastic support across Cumbria; making a real and lasting difference to the local community.”

Businesses generously supporting the event so far include CBA Events, M Sport, Rogan & Co, Lakeland, Grasmere Gingerbread, the Kirkstile Inn, Lyon Equipment, Langdale and North Lakes Hotel.

If your business would like to donate to this event, please email Joanne Holborn:  [email protected]
