A free bootcamp for new businesses and entrepreneurs is set to go ahead in Carlisle.

Cumbria Business Growth Hub has partnered with the University of Cumbria to deliver the bootcamp as part of Global Enterprise Week 2022.

The in-person event aims to encourage and upskill new and aspiring business owners and will bring together a team of speakers and entrepreneurs from across Cumbria to discuss a diverse range of topics essential to new businesses.

Sessions will cover everything from branding basics to accounting essentials, local sources of free business support and more.

Paul Teague, Student Enterprise Adviser, at University of Cumbria said: “This event provides not only the opportunity to listen to and learn from those who have already taken the plunge and industry experts but also gives access to the wider business support offers.

“It’s also a really good opportunity to network with people looking for the same answers and reassurances, whether that be as students of the University of Cumbria or the wider entrepreneurial community. It’s great to be working with Cumbria Business Growth Hub offering free support and a welcome opportunity for partnership working.”

The bootcamp will also provide an opportunity for networking and lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Lesley Robinson, Head of Business Support at Cumbria Chamber of Commerce said: “We’re really pleased to be partnering with the University of Cumbria as part of Global Enterprise Week 2022.

“It’s a really jam-packed day of information and inspiration, we’ve two great speakers who will be sharing their own experiences of taking the leap into self-employment and a great range of practical hints, tips and tricks. The event is open to anyone thinking about self-employment or running a business under three years old.”

The event will take place on Wednesday November 16 at the University of Cumbria’s Fusehill Street Campus in Carlisle from 10am to 4pm.
