Keswick and Bowness’s Joules store are not at risk their bosses say after it was revealed that the brand’s parent company is on the brink of collapse.
The chain, which also has branches in Carlisle, Ambleside, Kendal and Center Parcs, near Penrith, said its parent company has failed to secure new investment.
However, the Keswick store and the Bowness store are run by a franchise operation, which means they are not affected by the parent company’s difficulties.
Joules employs around 1,600 nationally. The clothing chain, founded in 1989, has around 130 branches nationwide. Joules Group revealed it was set to file a notice of intention to appoint administrators.
It was in talks with investors last week but they had not been successful and had ‘now been terminated’.
