A major Carlisle manufacturer has announced it will invest £2 million into its facility, creating 50 new jobs.
Pladis, which owns brands including McVitie’s, Jacob’s, Carr’s and Ülker, has built a new warehouse at its Carlisle site.
It follows the installation of four new production lines at the plant. The company has invested a total of £12 million over the last 18 months at its Carlisle base, creating 150 jobs.

The warehouse was opened today, Friday.
John Stevenson, Carlisle MP, added: “This is a very welcome multi-million-pound investment by pladis into the site, bringing with it 50 new jobs to the local area.
“Another real boost to the Carlisle economy with more jobs for local people.”
