An Eden housing developer is celebrating after one of its estates has been named best in the North in industry awards.
Atkinson Homes, based in Penrith, has been given the accolade in the LABC Building Excellence Awards for the five-home Hopegill Gardens, in Braithwaite, near Keswick.
The development will now go forward to compete in the grand final in London.
An Atkinsons spokesman said: “The site was planned, designed, project managed and constructed by Atkinsons’ team in the Penrith office along with support from numerous local subcontractors.
“We are passionate about reducing the carbon footprint of the homes that we build and have already introduced a new standard of building that are well above the current regulations. Our new homes are ultra-insulated and air-tight, so require little energy for heating, and Hopegill Gardens was another great example.
“The Local Authority Building Control Awards celebrate significant achievements within the construction industry, rewarding excellent building, outstanding companies, as well as partnerships and individuals that go the extra mile.
“We are extremely proud of these awards and our team’s achievements which are testament to everyone involved.”
