Armstrong Watson is set to welcome those interested in a career in accountancy to the first public event at the firm’s new head office in Rosehill.
The open evening at James Watson House, on Thursday November 16, is an opportunity for those considering a career in financial services to find out more about what the firm offers, including professional AAT accountancy apprenticeships and ACA chartered accountancy graduate opportunities, as well as work experience and summer internships.
Guests will have the opportunity to hear from and speak to Armstrong Watson’s team leaders and students who have recently qualified or are currently undertaking their qualifications with the firm. There will also be tours of the new state-of-the-art office.
Richard Andrew, partner and head of accounting, said: “Armstrong Watson gives trainees a strong financial background that opens up a lot of doors.
“The AAT apprenticeship qualification will set you up well for pretty much any role. You can start your career off and be working and earning along the way, and, if you have that ambition, you can run through your AAT qualification, progress to your chartered qualification and ultimately be a partner in an accountancy firm.
“I’d welcome anyone who is interested to join us for our open evening to find out more about the fantastic opportunities we have to offer.”
Armstrong Watson has taken on trainees for as long as it has been in existence, with some existing partners starting out as students.
For a second year in a row, the firm has been recognised among the UK’s most outstanding apprenticeship employers by the Department for Education and earlier this year strengthened its commitment to providing top-class apprenticeships by partnering with the Association of Apprentices.
The open evening at James Watson House, which starts at 6pm, is free to attend although places are limited and tickets must be secured via Eventbrite. All are welcome including parents, teachers and career leads.
Armstrong Watson is now on the lookout for its 2024 intake of AAT and ATT apprentices, with 22 positions available, including eight based in Cumbria. The closing date for applications is April 1 2024. Visit: armstrongwatson.info/AAT24 to apply.
In addition, positions are also available for the ACA chartered accountancy programme, with positions available at six of the firm’s offices across the north of England and Scotland. To apply visit armstrongwatson.info/ACA before the closing date on November 26.
