Two Cumbrian firms have been shortlisted for prestigious rural awards.
They are among 26 businesses in the running for the Countryside Alliance Awards, after thousands of nominations from across the country were whittled down for the five categories.
Family-run Garside Butchers, in Ambleside, has been nominated in the butcher category.
Levens Kitchen & Bakery, at Levens Hall, could be crowned the winner in the local food and drink category.
Known as the rural Oscars, the awards are in their 17th year. They celebrate rural businesses that go the extra mile, support their local economy and are the unsung heroes in every community.
It’s now down for people to vote for their favourite rural businesses, which can be done via the Countryside Alliance website.
People can vote for one business in all of the categories, or for just one individual business in their respective category.
Winners will go on to represent the region at the House of Lords in the national champions reception in June of 2024.
