The Cumberland is celebrating after being shortlisted for four national awards, including recognition for its work with first-time homebuyers.
The building society features in four categories for the 2024 Moneyfacts Awards: Best First-Time Buyer Mortgage, Best Fixed Rate Mortgage Provider; Best Remortgage Provider and Best Building Society Mortgage Provider.
Hannah Williamson, a mortgage advisor who works with the team in Carlisle, said: “We really get to know our customers so it’s always very exciting when we help people to buy their first home and climb on that first crucial step of the property ladder.
“Our work can change people’s lives – and it’s wonderful for that work to be recognised on a national level.
“Whatever stage you’re at in life, applying for a mortgage can be a daunting process. We do all the leg work, taking the stress out of the experience and simplifying things as much as we can. Customers put their full trust in us – and we are all very proud of how we support them.”
The results of the Moneyfacts Awards will be revealed at a ceremony in London in July.
Last year The Cumberland was commended in the Best Remortgage Provider category and was also shortlisted in two other categories Best Fixed Rate Mortgage Provider and Best Building Society Mortgage Provider.
Chris Cairns, head of products at The Cumberland, said: “At the Cumberland we pride ourselves on the products and services that we provide for our customers and to be shortlisted for four categories in this year’s Moneyfacts is further recognition of our efforts.
“We were commended within the Best Remortgage Provider category in last year’s awards, and it is great to see shortlisted for this again along with Best Fixed Rate Mortgage Provider, Best First-Time Buyer Mortgage Provider and Best Building Society Mortgage Provider. This recognition means a lot.”
