A prominent specialist remote engineering West Cumbrian SME has been rebranded.

PAR Systems, based at Lillyhall, near Workington, has now officially changed its name to CORE Nuclear Solutions.

The rebrand marks a key milestone in the growth of the independent engineering firm, and looks to better reflect who they are as a team and the remarkable work they do as Cumbrian remote engineers, it said.

John McGibbon, managing director, said: “Our overarching goal with the rebrand is to realign our identity with our core values, whilst embracing our Cumbrian heritage and solidifying our position as a leading force in the nuclear engineering industry.”

The change has come following the management buyout of the UK arm of PAR Systems three years ago.

Since then, the firm has continued to forge its own path independently, with the rebrand the final major step in its separation from the international corporation.

Mr McGibbon added: “We’re still the business that our clients know and trust. As we transition away from the global PAR Systems name, we’ve looked to rebrand ourselves in a way that reflects our expertise, reliability and down-to-earth approach.

“We are immensely grateful for the support and continuity provided by PAR Systems LLC during our transition. Although we are separate organisations now, we are doing more business together than we have ever done and are grateful for their support.”

Under Mr McGibbon’s leadership, the company has grown from strength to strength: increasing its team to over 40 people and experiencing rapid growth in turnover, outpacing the rest of the industry. The business has expanded into two additional premises and sees the rebrand as the next step in its growth journey.

The new name CORE Nuclear Solutions highlights the significance of their core team, which is the driving force behind the company’s success, it said.

Mr McGibbon added: “We’re really proud of being Cumbrian, and we always think Cumbrian first. Whether that’s with our hiring processes, our suppliers or even the rebrand itself, which we used a local agency to support us with. Although the new brand will help us move towards a global stage, we will never forget our roots.

“We hope that the new brand will help further our reputation for reliability, expertise, integrity and problem-solving and the ability to just get the job done.”

To celebrate the rebrand, the company is hosting an event for clients, partners and its team in late May.
