A new charity ball will be held later this year to support youngsters in care and those who have left the system.
The Stars of Tomorrow Ball will be held at Energus, in Lillyhall, near Workington on September 6 and organisers promise a night of unforgettable Hollywood glamour.
It will raise money for a newly created Enrichment Fund dedicated to supporting cared for and care experienced children and young people.
Hosted by Cumbria Youth Alliance, Inspira and Cumberland Council, the Stars of Tomorrow Ball features a gourmet dinner, live entertainment, and keynote speeches.
The black-tie affair will be a unique opportunity for local business leaders to network, celebrate, and contribute to a cause that will make a lasting impact on the lives of Cumberland’s youth.
The Enrichment Fund will provide care experienced children and young people with greater equality of opportunity.
By supporting travel, education and training, as well as access to arts and culture, the fund helps to broaden horizons, build aspiration, and equip young people with the tools they need to build successful futures, organisers said.
Emma Williamson, deputy leader of Cumberland Council, said: “We believe every young person deserves the chance to realise their full potential, regardless of their background.
“The fund will help to provide the support of ‘the bank of mam and dad’ so young people can access opportunities that their friends might be able to take for granted and help level the playing field.”
“We have an amazing programme for the night so I’d encourage everyone who is interested to book a table now.”
Becky Wolstenholme, CEO of Cumbria Youth Alliance, said: “The Stars of Tomorrow Ball promises to be an incredible night of entertainment but it is not just a celebration, but a call to action for our community to come together and invest in the futures of our most vulnerable youth.
“With the support of Cumberland’s business community, we can create opportunities that will have a transformative impact for years to come.”
Deborah Naylor, area operations manager for Inspira, added: “Helping young people make important decision about their futures is a cornerstone of Inspira’s work. This fund can help with some of the added extras that might make all the difference, it’s a great opportunity for businesses to support the future workforce and help young people.”
Tickets for the Stars of Tomorrow Ball are available now. A few remaining sponsorship packages are also offered, providing businesses with the chance to showcase their commitment to young people in Cumberland while enjoying exclusive benefits and recognition during the event.
