A disused hotel which has fallen into disrepair in Windermere is set to become a 17-bed aparthotel following a £1million refurbishment.
The former Grey Walls Hotel on Elleray Road has been bought by Cradel Haus, led by husband-and-wife team Del and Craig Parsons.

They plan to restore it to its former glory, transforming the space into a combination of two and one-bedroom apartments together with studio style accommodation.
They said £1m has been earmarked for the project and with work expected to start immediately, the hope is that Grey Walls will be open for bookings by late 2025.
The apartments will all be equipped with state-of-the-art appliances and technology including Neff appliances, smart televisions, fibre Wi-Fi, smart heating controls, EV charging and LED lighting.

There will be a self-check-in system in place and all apartments will also include private, off-road parking and a communal veranda/terrace to the rear of the property.
Craig said: “With Grey Walls, we’re excited to breathe new life into a space that holds so much history and potential.
“Our passion for creating luxurious, unforgettable experiences in the Lake District is at the heart of Cradel Haus.
“Restoring Grey Walls is an opportunity to celebrate this beautiful region while providing guests with a unique place to relax, unwind, and make lasting memories.”
Grey Walls will join Cradel Haus’s existing portfolio of 5-star properties, which also includes Fair Rigg, a collection of four holiday apartments.
