A series of roadshows is set to offer advice to farmers and landowners on understanding the impact of the Budget.
H&H Land & Estates and H&H Insurance Brokers have joined forces to host the Rural Roadshows that aim to offer practical advice to farmers and landowners facing changes following the recent Budget.
It comes after the budget saw in an Inheritance Tax Relief shake-up that caused concern among farmers.
The roadshows will take place in Carlisle and Kendal and will focus principally on the post-Budget potential threats to farmers and landowners, along with advice and will include presentations and strategies to effectively navigate the changes in:
- Inheritance Tax – Including how the latest budget measures could influence estate planning and strategies to secure assets for future generations
- Stamp Duty Land Tax – Which will explore the implications of Stamp Duty Land Tax changes on property transactions and land management
- Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) & Reduced Payments – Which will discuss the replacement of BPS payments and the alternative government schemes available to support farmers and landowners
Attendance is completely free, and attendees will be offered a complimentary pie and pea supper.
David Murchie, head of agriculture at H&H Insurance Brokers, will also provide insight into effectively managing risks during uncertain times with customised insurance solutions.

H&H Land & Estates Director, Mark Barrow, will host the Roadshow evenings and said planning for the future right now is crucial.

“As land agents and rural insurance brokers, we want to offer our farmers and landowners knowledge and reassurance on these crucial issues, and we hope our roadshow evenings will create a positive social occasion our guests can share with friends and likeminded farming people.”
H&H Roadshows in the North West will take place on Tuesday February 11 at The Auctioneer in Carlisle and on Wednesday Februrary 19 at the Crooklands Hotel, Crooklands, with special guest MP Tim Farron.
Doors will open at 6.30pm, with the sessions starting promptly at 7.00pm.
