The air ambulance service which covers Cumbria have benefitted from a charity auction organised by Cumbria’s Chamber of Commerce.
The Christmas event took place at the North Lakes Hotel, Penrith, on December 6 and on the night generated almost £5,000 for the Great North Air Ambulance which with match funding the charity had in place saw the total rise to £7,400.
“It was amazing and is down to the generosity of all the businesses that donated such good prizes to be auctioned on the day and the silent bid online,” Kev Warman from Cumbria Chamber of Commerce.
“I was pleased to present a cheque to Andy, one of the paramedics today, who told me about all the great work this charity carries out, without donations like these and more the charity would struggle to deliver this much needed service in the area, that saves so many lives.”
