Lloyd BYD (Build Your Dreams) opens next month.

One of the largest and most successful new automotive brands from China is coming to Cumbria.

Lloyd Motor Group will open a new franchise for BYD (Build Your Dreams) now one of the largest electric vehicle producers in the world.

Based on Kingstown Industrial Estate in Carlisle, Lloyd BYD Carlisle will introduce BYD’s innovative range of electric and plug-in petrol hybrid vehicles to drivers across Cumbria and the Scottish Borders and will create new employment opportunities as well as reinforcing the group’s commitment to sustainable transportation.

The arrival in Cumbria of BYD marks the latest continued expansion across the UK market, delivering cutting-edge zero-emission and low-emission vehicles.

“We are delighted to bring BYD to Carlisle, further expanding our portfolio across North England,” Sam Lloyd, Managing Director of Lloyd Motor Group, said. “This new franchise represents our ongoing commitment to supporting the transition to sustainable transportation while serving the growing demand for electric vehicles in Cumbria and the surrounding areas. Lloyd Motor Group continues to lead the way in bringing innovative automotive brands to our communities.”

The new BYD franchise is scheduled to open on Monday 9th June, with a formal launch event planned to showcase the facility and BYD’s electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle range to the local community.

“The addition of BYD to our Carlisle operations marks an exciting new chapter for Lloyd Motor Group,” Craig Bowers, Head of Business at Lloyd Motor Group, added. “We’re excited to introduce BYD’s exceptional range of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles to customers in Cumbria and Southern Scotland and to deliver the outstanding service standards on which Lloyd Motor Group has built its reputation.”
