Legal firm Cartmell Shepherd has promoted a solicitor in its wills, probate and inheritance team.
Robert Hudson has been promoted to senior associate solicitor, less than 12 months after he joined the firm.
Robert qualified as a solicitor in 2009 after studying law at Cambridge University. He then went on to work for large law firms in London and Leeds, before returning to his home county of Cumbria 12 years ago. Since then, he has worked in the area of wills, trusts and probate with a significant agricultural client base.
Robert said: “I’m happy to be taking on the role of senior associate and looking forward to helping our team continue to serve our clients.”
Since joining Cartmell Shepherd, Robert has worked on complex estate administration cases and helped clients to restructure their wills in light of changes made to inheritance tax in the 2024 Budget.
He added: “I was happy to join Cartmell Shepherd last year having seen the strength of their property and dispute resolution teams while working in the area. Since joining Cartmell Shepherd, I have worked with some wonderful colleagues and clients. I look forward to continuing to do so in my new role.”
Deborah Flynn, director and head of the wills, probate and inheritance team, said: “Robert has proven himself to be a valuable addition to our team since joining last year.
“He is well regarded by clients and colleagues and has already made a significant positive impact on the department. I’d like to extend a huge congratulations to Robert on his promotion to Senior Associate and look forward to working with him in this new role.”
