Furness Building Society has announced the permanent appointment of Tom Leach as chief financial officer, following Simon Broadley’s promotion to chief executive.
Tom takes on the role having been part of the finance team at Furness Building Society since October 2024.
Tom is responsible for financial strategy and prudential risk management, optimising the society’s financial performance to deliver sustainable growth and investment.
He joins with a long-standing career in mutual banking having held roles at Monmouthshire Building Society, Bath Building Society and Principality Building Society.
Simon said: “In the short time Tom has been with us at Furness, he has demonstrated an excellent level of technical understanding, a creative mindset and most importantly, a set of personal values that align perfectly to our culture.
“As a permanent member of the executive team, I know Tom will continue to lead by example, supporting our finance colleagues and developing the wider business as we embark upon the 2025-2030 strategic plan.”
