Work has begun on a site set to become a major commercial hub near Penrith.
Maple Grove Developments, part of the Eric Wright Group, acquired the 19 acre site north of the town in November 2024.
It has started infrastructure work at the site, next to the A6 and Junction 41 of the M6.
Outline planning consent is already in place for 250,000sq ft of industrial and logistics space.
The initial programme of work is being delivered by Toman Construction..
James Scott, managing director at Maple Grove, said: “We have worked closely with the local authority to finalise the site’s infrastructure design and are pleased to be at a stage where we can commence these works and open up the access to the site.”
Paul Cook, of CBRE, joint agents for the scheme with Carlisle-based Carigiet Cowen, added: “This announcement demonstrates Maple Grove’s commitment to delivering a new high-quality commercial development in this area of Cumbria.
“The location of the site, coupled with the fact that power has already been secured, is already attracting interest from occupiers looking for modern accommodation in this area of the North.”
