Armstrong Watson has reinforced its continued growth in Cumbria with three senior appointments.
The accountancy firm has welcomed Paul Clark as tax partner, Becky Morgan as audit and assurance director and Andy Paterson as business services director.
It said it had welcomed 59 new recruits in the last 12 months, including 24 trainees and graduates, supporting clients from seven offices across the county.
Paul Dickson, CEO and managing partner, said: “Over the past 12 months, we’ve seen exceptional growth in Cumbria and that momentum demands investment.
“We’re making key senior hires in areas where our clients need us most, and expanding our early careers pathways year-on-year to support this growth.
“With experienced leadership and a strong pipeline of future talent, we can scale capacity, deepen our expertise, and deliver even greater value for clients across the region. I’m delighted to welcome Paul, Becky, Andy and all our other new colleagues to the business.”
Paul, who brings 20 years’ experience advising high-net-worth private clients and families, said: “Armstrong Watson has a fantastic reputation, and I am delighted to be joining the firm as a partner to further bolster the private client tax team.
“Tax has never been so topical, and I’m excited to be working with a wide range of clients, supporting and advising them through the ever-evolving tax landscape. The breadth and depth of the team, our knowledge and our services enable us to play a key role in supporting our clients.
“Armstrong Watson has been on a real growth trajectory in recent years, and I look forward to helping the firm continue on its growth journey.”
Paul joins after 14 years with Big Four firms, Deloitte and KPMG—spending the last nine years at KPMG, where he progressed to partner and led the private client tax team across the Midlands, before relocating to the Lake District.
Becky joins Armstrong Watson after 17 years with Kent-based accountancy firm Loucas, where she led the audit team.
She said: “I hope to build up a good client base and develop some excellent, long-term relationships with clients. I aim to provide the best service possible and to help clients grow.”
Becky has more than 25 years of experience and expertise covering a range of business sectors and sizes. She will be responsible for growing the audit client base in Cumbria, with a focus on Penrith and the south of the county.
Andy joins Armstrong Watson with more than 20 years of experience in strategic financial planning and business advisory.
Andy has held senior leadership roles within practice, industry and, most recently, as head of finance with The Royal British Legion.
Specialising in scaling SMEs, he supports clients to streamline their financial operations, driving profitability and growth.
Andy said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Armstrong Watson at such an exciting time of growth and development for our firm.
“Adding real value to our clients matters most to me, and our team at Armstrong Watson is ideally positioned to support our clients on the next stage of their journey.”
