A newly-established Cumbrian creative website agency has achieved global recognition for exceptional performance in its field.
Wildbird Web Design, led by Jili Allen and the team behind Jili Allen Creative, has been awarded in two categories of the 18th edition Web Excellence Awards.
The international industry competition recognises and honours global excellence in web design, development, digital marketing, and mobile applications.
It serves as a benchmark for creative agencies, designers, and developers around the world to showcase their finest digital work.
The competition brings together creators from across the globe. The 2026 season received over 1,750 entries submitted from more than 50 countries spanning 5 continents.
Based in Cumbria, Wildbird design, develop, host and maintain websites and e-commerce sites for businesses around the UK, delivering designer websites and people-focused support optimised for (but not created by) AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Gemini.
Jili Allen, founder of Wildbird said: “Wildbird was born of a wish to put back human-led design front and centre of the creative process.
“Good honest northern support and exceptional design made available nationwide.
“We simply want to provide digital services and products that are a cut above; showcasing the incredible talents of the county and consistently doing the best job we can for every client.
“We’re absolutely delighted to have been recognised on a global scale as we launch Wildbird proper but I think it reflects that we are living, and working with, our values day in, day out.”
The team at Wildbird were recognised for excellence in both the recruitment category for TalentYard, a London-based recruitment agency and the charitable organisations category for leading Cumbrian charity, Another Way.
Projects are not judged on aesthetics or visual design alone. Instead, an international panel of judges reviews entries based on strict multi-dimensional standards, including technical SEO, user experience (UX) architecture, mobile performance, speed, AI discoverability, and accessibility.
The first award was for work delivered for Another Way, helping them create a better website.
The site Wildbird created uses eco-conscious, renewable-energy-powered hosting and lightweight coding to reduce load times and server demands.
Judges said that the result was a dynamic digital hub that strengthens community engagement and promotes sustainable action.
On news of the award, Another Way founder and director, Amy Bray said: “Another Way is honoured to receive a web excellence award for our brilliant website, designed by the talented Jili Allen.
“As an environmental education charity created for young people, we knew that the website had to be accessible, welcoming and most importantly, full of hope.
“Our team is proud of the site and how interactive it is, and that it has become the embodiment of everything we stand for.”
The second award was for work with TalentYard Recruitment Ltd.
The project involved redesigning and developing a modern recruitment platform to better connect candidates and employers, with a strong focus on user experience, functionality and a focus on brand identity.
Feedback from the judges highlighted how the project demonstrated Wildbird’s ability to create effective, user-focused digital experiences, combining thoughtful design, robust development, and strategic content to drive meaningful results.
