A Lake District hotel group has been nominated for two prestigious hospitality awards.
Lake District Country Hotels has been shortlisted in the Excellence in Promoting Early Careers and Excellence in Learning and Development categories at the HR in Hospitality’s Annual Awards for Excellence in HR 2026.
The group’s nominations recognised the success of several initiatives, including its training academy, chef academy, and trainee management programmes.
The initiatives were developed to build skills, nurture future leaders, and create a strong internal talent pipeline.
Alongside its in-house development programmes, the group worked with local schools, colleges, universities and charities to inspire young people to consider careers in hospitality.
The awards, now in their 30th year, celebrate individuals and teams shaping the future of people practices across the hospitality sector.
They recognise initiatives and strategies that help businesses develop talent, support teams, and overcome industry challenges.
The group’s executive manager, Joe Cobb, said: “We have partnered with education providers, local youngsters, and people keen to develop in our wonderful industry for more than 20 years, providing learning and development experiences for so many.
“To now be recognised on a national level is something we are most proud of, and we have everything crossed for the awards night in September.”
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on Friday September 11.
